Hometown Hero Program

The Hometown Hero program was developed in 2009 by Mayor Joyce Lobene to honor our local servicemen and women who have chosen to serve in the US armed forces. The following organizations, businesses, and individuals made financial contributions to the program: Spencerport Kiwanis Club, Spencerport Lion’s Club, Spencerport Rotary, Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330, Ferris Goodridge Son’s of the American Legion Post #330, Barton’s Parkside Hots, and Mr. and Mrs. Foos.

The criteria to become a Hometown Hero are that the serviceman or woman reside in the 14559 zip code or attended Spencerport Schools and are on active duty.

Those servicemen and women who are no longer on active duty can receive their own banners by contacting the Village Clerk at 585-352-4771.

If you have, or know of, an Ogden or Spencerport resident that is presently serving in the US Armed Forces and they’d like to be considered for the Hometown Hero Program, please submit the following information:
